Most ordinary forms of oral alpha-lipoic acid supplements – tablets, capsules, powders, and liquids – are not digested and absorbed efficiently by your body. As a result, much of this alpha-lipoic acid is never absorbed into your bloodstream and even less of it makes it into your cells where it’s needed most.
Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) is known as the universal antioxidant and is one of the strongest antioxidants that can be found in nearly every tissue in a healthy body. Referred to as the ‘universal antioxidant’, ALA is both water-soluble and fat-soluble unlike other antioxidants which are one or the other meaning ALA can offer whole body antioxidant support.
ALA recycles other antioxidants once they’re ‘used up’ allowing you to get more mileage. ALA has also been show to stimulate the production of glutathione, another important antioxidant. A small amount of ALA is made naturally in the body. The rest of what you need must come from eating red meat, organ meats, and brewer’s yeast or from dietary supplements.

The R Form of Alpha lipoic acid
ALA is found in two forms: the R form, which is the form found in nature, or the S form, which is often used in low-cost, synthetic preparations of ALA. R-ALA is more bioavailable and biologically active than S-ALA. But it’s expensive to produce and often presents stability issues in manufacturing. This is why most ALA supplements contain only the S form, or a 50/50 mixture of S-ALA and R-ALA.
Lypo-Spheric R-Alpha Lipoic Acid | Liposomal R-ALA encapsulates R-ALA in liposomes made from essential phospholipids. These protect the R-ALA from destruction by your digestive juices. Once taken, Lypo-Spheric R-ALA, liposomes filled with R-ALA are transported directly into the lymphatic system and then into the bloodstream, and then into the cells. This powerful delivery system gives you the potential to experience the full benefits of ALA with every packet.

Wait at least 15 minutes before eating. It is absorbed slower if taken with food.
