Description
Traditional oral forms of glutathione (GSH) supplements are broken down by stomach acid and digestive enzymes in the digestive tract into it’s made building blocks of glycine, glutamine, and cysteine.
Those amino acids, along with the mineral selenium, must then be reassembled into glutathione by your various cells. There is some research to show that take glutathione supplements can help increase the amount of glutathione in your cells to some degree, regular supplements aren’t that efficient.
Up until now the only workaround to boost glutathione levels is through time-consuming, uncomfortable and expensive intravenous injections. Even then, the GSH that’s infused into your bloodstream is broken down into glycine, glutamine, and cysteine, only to be absorbed by your cells and reassembled.
Until now…

Liposomal glutathione (GSH) encapsulates the GSH in liposomes made from essential phospholipids, which protect it from being destroyed by digestive juices. Within minutes of taking liposomal GSH, the tiny liposomes filled with GSH are transported into your lymphatic system and then into your bloodstream, and ultimately into your cells.
This makes liposomal GSH one of the most efficient and cost-effective ways to boost your cellular levels of this essential antioxidant.
Because the liposomes are absorbed like fat with much greater efficiency, you’ll absorb infinitely more intact glutathione raising intracellular levels better than IV glutathione.
A study in the European Journal of Nutrition showed that daily supplementation of glutathione is effective at increasing body stores of glutathione by 30-35% over a 6 month period.
What does liposomal glutathione do?*
- An antioxidant for the maintenance of good health
- An antioxidant that protects cells against the oxidative damage caused by free radicals
*Health Canada approved health claims
Research supports glutathione’s role with:
- Protecting cells from the damage caused by harmful free radicals (1) (both oxygen and nitrogen-based) (2).
- Promoting optimal cellular health
- Supporting a healthy liver and promoting normal detoxification (3).
- Recycling other antioxidants like vitamins C & E, and polyphenols/flavonoids (4).
- Supporting a healthy immune system (5).
- Neutralizing potentially toxic heavy-metals (6).
- Acts as an antioxidant (7).
How to take glutathione effectively
As a dietary supplement take 1 -2 ml (approx. 2-4 pumps) and hold in mouth for seconds before swallowing, 1 to 2 times per day, or as directed by a health care practitioner.
It will enter the bloodstream faster if you take it on an empty stomach and wait at least 15 minutes before eating. It will be absorbed however, it taken with food or after a meal as well, just more slowly.
