Pursuing health without the dogma for a mind wide open
But first, “you must unlearn what you have learned” YODA
More and more health professionals, including doctors, are challenging conventional wisdom when to comes to long-standing advice on healthy eating. Through their own experiences of becoming over-weight and prediabetic, many have turned to low-carb-high-fat, keto and lower carb diets to effectively lose weight, and reverse the abnormal lab indices that they and their peers normally prescribe medications for. Once considered fad diets, low/lower-carb, high-fat diets are taking their rightful place in the management of metabolic disease.
Meet Elie Jarrouge M.D.
Several years ago, as a board certified internal medicine doctor, Dr Jarrouge followed the conventional medical advice of what a healthy lifestyle is supposed to be.
He ended up overweight, with high blood pressure and pre-diabetes. It wasn’t until he was willing to question everything that he learned and search for the truth that he was able to reclaim my health. Now he wants to be your doctor and health coach so you can reclaim your health.
Dr Jarrouge’s Rule of Thumb
The Pareto Principle or the 80/20 rule refers to the general observation that roughly 80% of the effects comes from 20% of the causes. This is true for most things in life, including chronic diseases.
The vast majority of chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, Fatty liver disease, heart disease, strokes, cancer, many autoimmune diseases, arthritis, dementia, etc. have one thing in common; they are all diseases of modern life. The way we live and the food we eat have changed radically from the millions of years that preceded and shaped our evolution.
As Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine said more than 2000 years ago, and whose wisdom has stood the test of time, “All diseases start in the gut.” The food we eat has changed so much in the past century to the point it would not be recognizable to our recent ancestors.
It’s loaded with sugar, highly refined carbohydrates, inflammatory industrial seed oils, food-like substances that are nutrient deficient, and have caused an onslaught of chronic inflammation which is the backbone of all chronic diseases. The most important driver is chronic hyper-insulinemia. Our work will focus on lowering insulin so the root cause of your problems is fixed. The benefits will follow naturally.
His mission
His mission is to reverse the course of obesity and diabetes one person at at time in order to maximize health span and allow you to live the healthiest life possible as long as possible. This is accomplished by attending to the physical, mental and emotional experiences in life and consciously respond to their causes.
