If you have prediabetes or type 2 diabetes or a health professional that works with these patients, chances are, you probably think you have an understanding of what the underlying physiological issue is.

 

I chatted with Dr Tom Wood who breaks it all down for us; after listening you’ll have a greater understanding of insulin resistance than the vast majority of health professionals who work with these patients (a.k.a. Type 2 diabetes) do. You’ll finally understand that it’s not a blood sugar issue but rather an insulin issue.

More about Dr. Tommy Wood

Tommy Wood, MD, Ph.D. is a research faculty member at the University of Washington (UW) in the Department of Pediatrics. His research focuses on ways to increase resilience, and treat the injury of, the developing brain.

 

He has a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Cambridge, received his medical degree from the University of Oxford, and has a Ph.D. in physiology and neuroscience from the University of Oslo.

 

In addition to his role as a faculty at UW, he serves as President of Physicians for Ancestral Health. He has published and spoken on multiple topics surrounding functional and ancestral approaches to health, including the root causes of chronic diseases such as multiple sclerosis and insulin resistance
